The PRIME Board today presents a new and improved website experience for students, teachers, parents and members with the launch of www.primecommitment.co.uk.

PRIME members have invested in improving the content, design, functionality and navigation of the website to provide greater information and support to all stakeholders and facilitate high quality work experience opportunities for young people from less privileged backgrounds.

The website also hosts a new Best Practice Guide for members, to ensure a consistent and high quality experience for PRIME participants.

Coinciding with the website re-fresh is the implementation of a contextualised recruitment system (CRS) tool provided by Rare Recruitment. CRS hardwires social mobility metrics into the PRIME application process, re-assuring applicants that their economic background and personal circumstances are taken into account when applying for work experience placements, and giving members confidence that valued work experience placements continue to be offered to candidates who most closely meet PRIME’s target audience and criteria.

Commenting on the new infrastructure PRIME Chair Nicholas Cheffings said:

“Members told us they wanted more: more contact with each other and with students and alumni, more best practice sharing, and more web profile. The new website and tools provide the perfect platform for this. The reality is though that whilst PRIME members are all making great progress in breaking down barriers to entry, we can always do more. Whether it be more outreach outside London and the major cities, more robust monitoring of candidates through the use of tools such as CRS, or more contact with students from school all the way through to graduation – ringing in the changes today represents a great step towards shifting the needle towards more social mobility in the legal profession.”
