Our paid work experience programme (CMS Connect) is designed for school and college students who might think a career in law is out of reach. This programme is here to prove it is not.
This year our programme will take place the week of 28 July 2025.
We will show you what’s possible, letting you experience how our legal practice works and the role you could play with us in the future.
During the programme, you will develop skills that all employers look out for, not just those in the legal profession. This happens through:
Eligibility
Students must be in Year 12 (England and Wales) or S5 (Scotland) at the time of application and attending a state school or college. You must also meet the eligibility criteria set out here.

Apprenticeships
At CMS you can qualify as a solicitor through our six-year apprenticeship programme. You will earn while you learn, gaining valuable experience from day one with no university fees to pay. Find out more here.
