Programme details

The Herbert Smith Freehills PRIME Work Experience programme focusses on three key elements: Providing young people with knowledge of the legal sector with an emphasis on commercial law; Supporting young people with developing the key skills to thrive in jobs in the professional services and excel in the recruitment process; Providing young people with a network of professionals to support them with the next stages of their development.
During the work experience programme, students will participate in a range of learning based activities such as professional development workshops, employability skills workshops and networking sessions. In addition, students will spend time with real lawyers and trainees to gain insight into life at an international law firm and the role of a commercial lawyer.

One of the highlights of the programme is mentoring. Each student will have a one-on-one mentor, who will provide support and encouragement throughout the work experience and beyond. Students will have an opportunity to review their daily progress and discuss plans for the future with their mentors. In doing so, you will gain valuable work experience, advice and improve your networking skills.

In addition to all of this, the week will be packed with different fun and exciting activities, such as visiting the Royal Court of Justice, participating in a team exercise, meeting clients of the firm and much more.

When does it happen?

During the summer holidays, typically in August.
