What work experience do we offer?
During our one-week Insight programme, students gain a real insight into the world of work and learn about the full range of career paths a global business like Norton Rose Fulbright has to offer – from being a lawyer, paralegal or legal secretary, through to a career in IT, Finance, Marketing or HR. You will attend workshops and participate in team challenges, thereby equipping you with the skills needed to succeed – from presenting and team working to analysis and negotiation. We will also provide you with practical support for interview techniques, CV writing and improving your personal impact. You will also learn how to network with business professionals and start building your own network of contacts at Norton Rose Fulbright and our clients. To enrich your work experience, your allocated mentor will provide you with additional insight, feedback and support for the week and beyond.
When does it happen?
The Insight programme takes place every summer; applications open in December each year.
Who can apply?
Our Insight programme is open to Year 12 and 13. We work with three partnership colleges as well as the Social Mobility Foundation and Pathways to Law; we provide the schools and the partner organisations with a number of places and a set of criteria and ask them to manage the selection process, with approximately a total of 30 places on the programme.
Eligibility criteria:
• Year 12 and 13 students with an interest in exploring different career paths within a law firm (both fee earning/law and business services such as IT, HR, Marketing)
• First generation in the family to attend university or who have received Free School Meals
• Motivated students who will embrace the opportunity of a week’s work experience in a City law firm and will commit to completing the full week’s programme.
We are unable to accept direct applications. Please contact the Social Mobility Foundation and/or Pathways to Law to find out how to apply through them.
How many spaces are there?
