Who we are?

We are a leading commercial firm with a national reputation for our work for public sector bodies and for private sector clients who need advice on public law issues. A great deal of the work we do has a high public profile and is of high value. We work across the country and our clients include central government departments, local authorities and local authority companies, non-departmental public bodies, charities and commercial clients. The largest proportion of the firm's work is in non-contentious commercial contracts work, including procurement. This includes work in ICT, infrastructure, outsourcing, construction, education and general public authority contracts. We have approximately 85 people, including some 25 partners. As a firm we are committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and social mobility and believe that a person’s access to job opportunities should be determined by the skills and talents they possess rather than their background.

Programme details

Our one week work experience takes place annually in April.

Our programme gives school students the opportunity to meet and learn from a range of lawyers across the firm. Through practical work experience and a blend of learning and development workshops, we prepare students with the skills needed to succeed in a career in law, such as research, analysis, team building, personal brand and presenting. We also provide careers advice on topics such as interview technique and CV writing.

You will spend time with a number of different departments, such as Procurement, Real estate and Planning, Litigation and ICT projects.

The programme aims to give students an insight into the range of careers available in the legal profession, the potential routes into those careers and to develop key skills required to succeed in the legal sector
