Talent is everywhere, opportunity is not.
The Sutton Trust’s 2025 research brief The Opportunity Index highlighted that Britain is a country in which “where you grew up can have as much, if not more, impact than your family’s individual socioeconomic circumstances.
It is imperative therefore that opportunities are offered to students across the country, so we are delighted that Legal Clarity have joined PRIME and will be offering work experience opportunities to students from Birmingham, where they will get an insight into life at the firm, be introduced to the type of work encountered as a lawyer, and begin to believe that law is a viable career for them.
Cat Greenwood-Smith, PRIME’s Executive Co-Chair, says “It’s fantastic to have Legal Clarity join PRIME and offer work experience opportunities to students in Birmingham. Bringing together law firms across the country to provide young people with opportunity, belief and confidence is essential to widening access to the profession. Together, we can open more doors for more students and help build a more diverse and accessible legal profession.”
Gary Davie, Partner at Legal Clarity, shares “We all have a responsibility to engage with young people interested in a career in law—particularly those who may lack the networks and connections that can make entering the profession easier. We’re proud to join PRIME as part of this effort. When the legal sector works together in this way, we can open more doors and create real opportunities for social mobility across the UK.”
