PRIME members run programmes throughout the year but summer is often the busiest time. It certainly was this year – below is just a snapshot!
Thorntons Law LLP ran their first PRIME programme. The week was jam-packed, with court visits, legal sessions & skills workshops.
Ashurst gave students invaluable first-hand experience of life as a commercial lawyer and a unique perspective on a variety of businesses & the world of in-house law with the Social Mobility Business Partnership.
Students at Broadfield engaged in a wide range of interactive sessions designed to build knowledge, confidence, & practical skills as well as a closer look at life in a leading law firm.
Brodies LLP ran programmes across their offices in Scotland, where the hands on experience had students shadowing colleagues across different practice areas, as well as excursions to court, university, & the Scottish Parliament.
Students at DAC Beachcroft gained insight into life at an international law firm & developed valuable skills to support their future careers in law.
In Sheffield, students at Irwin Mitchell learnt about the ins and outs of the Court of Protection team.
In Edinburgh, students joined Morton Fraser MacRoberts LLP and saw first hand that a career in law is achievable, no matter your background.
A highlight at Shepherd and Wedderburn was a mock proof exercise, a Dragons’ Den-inspired business pitch challenge. There was also the opportunity to visit another PRIME member, Lloyds Banking Group, to take part in a negotiation challenge.
Slaughter and May worked with Futures For All to deliver their programme where students gained an understanding of the range of career opportunities in such firms. And, they’ll be back in October for more!
Students at Trowers & Hamlins learnt about the different routes into a career in law, equipping them for the next step on their journey.
Many of our members work with partner organisations to deliver their amazing programmes and this year, 2-3 Degrees travelled across the UK to deliver workshops for young people on PRIME programmes.
